Sahara Nepal is a non-political and non-profitable organization established in 2052 BS in Jhapa District of Nepal. Since then, Sahara Nepal is profoundly engaged in Public Health, humanitarian assistance, community development, decent housing & safe shelter, conservation of natural resources, and environmental protection mainly in the Hilly and Terai region of Nepal through the dozens of humanitarian and long-term development projects.

In partnership with FAIRMED Foundation Nepal, Sahara Nepal is implementing Biswas Project(Building the trust and confidence among NTD affected and vulnerable Population) in Public Health Component (Neglected Tropical Diseases).  The project  in different17 R/ Municipalities of Jhapa and Morang districts focuses the intervention targeting both NTDs and Maternal and Neonatal Health  ((MNH) including policy engagement and technical support to the related health sectors.  Sahara Nepal is seeking qualified, dynamic and motivated Nepali citizens on following positions for successful implementation of the project.

1. Project Officer (PO):(60-70% time in field) 

Number of Vacancies: 1 (ONE)

The Project officer will be responsible for overall management of project activities mainly planning and implementation of the planned activities with required supervision. S/he will ensure proper and effective use of project resources and assets and its management according to organization ‘s policy and guidelines. He/she will collaborate with Health Office of the project districts (Jhapa and Morang), Municipalities, and Health Facilities, FCHVs, Self Help Groups and HFOMC during the planning and implementation.

Required qualifications:

  • He/she should have at least Bachelor’s degree in public health with 3-5 years working experience in Community
  • Health Programs including excellent language skills, verbal and written communication in Nepali, English and local
  • dialects as well as good knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft Office, SPSS etc.) with ability to produce
  • reports in English and Nepali.

2. Project Supervisor (70-80% time in field)     

Number of Vacancies: 1 (ONE)

The Project Supervisor will be responsible for overall management of project activities mainly planning and

implementation of the planned activities with required supervision. S/he will ensure proper and effective use of

project resources and assets and its management according to organization ‘s policy and guidelines.He/she will

collaborate with Health Office of the project districts (Jhapa and Morang), Municipalities, and Health Facilities,

FCHVs, Self Help Groups and HFOMC during the planning and implementation.

Required qualifications:

  • He/she should have at least Bachelor’s degree in public health with 3-5 years working experience in Community
  • Health Programs including excellent language skills, verbal and written communication in Nepali, English and

3. Admin and Finance Officer     

Number of Vacancies: 1 (ONE)

The Admin and Finance Officer will be responsible for overall management of the

Administrative and Financial transaction of the Project as well as all financial transactions and management as well

as update the books of accounts.

Required qualifications:

  • He/she should have at least Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Studies, Business Administration or any relevant discipline with at least 5 years of experience in accounting and Finance.

4. Community Health Mobilizer (CHM):

(100% field based) Number of Vacancies: 17 (ONE in each Rural/Municipality)The candidates will be required to work with the community, households, social/religious leaders, local groups, FCHVs and Health Facilities. Work closely with Health Facilities, Municipality, Ward Offices, HFOMCs and FCHVs/Mothers Group, Self Help Groups and relevant stakeholders in the communities. The Community Health Mobilizers must be from within the same Municipality. 

Minimum Qualifications:

He/she must have passed Intermediate level preferably Health Assistant, Staffs Nurse, Health education, social science, Rural development or any other discipline with at least 2 years’ working experience in community facilitation, empowerment, and mobilization including good communication skills, verbal and written Nepali, and or local dialects. Experience in community health programs will be added advantage.
